Central World, Zen, and BTS Skywalk: fire and bullet damage

The BTS Skywalk joining BTS Chidlom and BTS Siam remains open despite significant fire damage to Central World shopping center. A fabric screen has been attached to a short section of the Skywalk, but it’s still easy to view (and photograph) the extent of the damage to Zen department store.

Walking along the Skywalk and turning right (towards Central World) there are several glass panels that appear to have been hit by bullets or other high-speed projectiles.

The front elevation of Central World is less easy to view, being screened by a tall metal barrier. At one entrance, flowers have been left (presumably for those killed in the conflict) but this attracts little attention from passers-by who seem more interested in the partially-collapsed building.

Apart from the very obvious fire damage, there are few signs of the long anti-government protest held at Ratchaprasong Intersection with the exception of a few stickers.
