Phra Athit Road

Phra Athit Road (Thai: ถ.พระอาทิตย์) meaning "the Sun", runs from Thammasat University, under Phra Pinklao Bridge, and on to Santichai Prakan Park. Although it passes close to the Chao Phraya River (about 50 – 100 meters away) this is generally not visible due to buildings obstructing the view.

The area is especially popular with low-budget western tourists who have escaped from or are staying in nearby Khao San Road. Phra Athit Road is lined with small bars and restaurants, food stalls, and Internet cafes catering mostly to these foreign tourists, but retains some original Thai character and is a pleasant place to stroll along in the evening.

Phra Athit Road is located entirely in Phra Nakhon District of Bangkok.
