Australian, 90, accused of raping four young sisters

A 90-year-old Australian man has been charged with detaining and raping four young sisters whom he allegedly lured to his home with imported chocolates and English lessons. The arrest followed a complaint by the children's father. One girl, when the alleged abuse began in 2008, was aged just 5 years old. The Thai girls are now aged from 7 to 15.

German-born Joseph Kraus Karl was arrested on Tuesday (June 29, 2010) at his house in Chiang Mai province where police also confiscated about 100 indecent photos of naked children. Some of these photos showed the elderly man posing naked with other children. Doi Saket police chief Kritapol Yeesakorn said that police were trying to identify these children and contact their families.
