IMPORTANT!
Ninety day notifications at the BOI One-Stop Service Center for Visas and Work Permits at Chamchuri Square (MRT Sam Yan) are no longer being processed for those who did not obtain their visa or visa extension at that office. This follows a meeting of immigration officials at Monday lunchtime on March 8, 2010.
Customers who were already queuing with completed forms were turned away and told to go to the Immigration Center at Chaeng Wattana.

Amazing Thailand
My colleague was one of those who joined the queue shortly after lunch. Following a late start after a lunchtime meeting, the queue was told to go away as it had been decided that 90 day reports would no longer be processed for non BOI customers who had obtained their visa or visa renewal from another office.
One can only guess that staff at the BOI office were not prepared to accept the extra workload that resulted from closing Suan Phlu Immigration Center to western visitors and replacing it with the new immigration center at Chaeng Wattana. Had someone used some commonsense, they might have realized that Chaeng Wattana is inconvenient for most visitors and expatriates living in central Bangkok. With even greater foresight, the immigration service might have scrapped the requirement for ninety day notifications completely.
