Watthana District of Bangkok

Watthana (Thai: วัฒนา) pronounced wat-ta-naa is one of fifty administrative districts in Bangkok, Thailand. Its name comes from the Thai word which means "development".

Location

Watthana district is located within or just to the east of central Bangkok. Its northern boundary is defined by Khlong Saen Saeb and the southern boundary by Sukhumvit Road, starting just before Soi 1 and ending at Soi 81.

From the north and working clockwise, Watthana is bounded by these Bangkok districts:

  2. Huay Khwang
  3. Suan Luang
  4. Phra Khanong
  5. Khlong Toey
  6. Sathon
  7. Pathum Wan

Subdistricts

Watthana is divided into three subdistricts or "khwaeng".

  1. Khlong Toei Nuea (คลองเตยเหนือ)
  2. Khlong Tan Nuea (คลองตันเหนือ)
  3. Phra Khanong Nuea (พระโขนงเหนือ)
