The Reading Room (art library)
The Reading Room is a privately-owned contemporary art library located on Charoen Krung Road in a three-story shop house, not far from BTS Sapan Taksin. The library is run as a non-profit organization open to the public free of charge.
Although we haven't yet had a chance to visit the library ourselves, we have been in contact with its owner and it seems very promising. The Reading Room houses a collection of more than 1,000 items relating to contemporary Thai art and art reference books from all over the world, including art history and theory books, monographs, exhibition catalogues, art magazines, and electronic resource.

The Reading Room is located on Charoen Krung Road near the entrance of soi 91. Facing the entrance of the soi, the Reading Room is just two shop houses to the left.

Monday and Tuesday: closed
Wednesday - Sunday: open from 13:00 - 19:00
Getting there
By Car: The Reading Room is located on the main road on the corner of Charoenkrung Soi 91. Parking is available at Wat Rasjasinkhon.
By BTS Skytrain: Take the BTS Skytrain to Saphan Taksin Station and then take a taxi to Charoen Krung Soi 91. Alternatively, you can take a bus which should take around 5 to 10 minutes.
Regular bus (no air-conditioning): 1, 15, 17, 75, 163
Bus with air-conditioning: 20, 22, 75, 504, 544, 547

Confirmed location - but closed today
I made an unannounced visit today when passing through the area. Unfortunately, I may have been a little late (it was 6.00 PM on Saturday) and the Reading Room was already closed. Its location wasn't obvious as there were no signboards out front, but a neighbor confirmed it was the library. It looked like a regular shop house from outside and things are probably being run in a very low key way.
